What We believe

We believe in the Gospel.

The Gospel is the good news of God’s grace gleaming through the work of Christ. For us to receive this as good news, we first need to understand why this is good news.

God, the creator, is absolutely and perfectly holy (Isaiah 6:3), and because of this, He cannot commit or approve of evil (James 1:13). We, as creations, are born in sin (Romans 5:12), and require a savior because we were subjected to God’s wrath (Ephesians 2:3). God’s holiness and justice demand that all sin be punished by death (Ezekiel 18:4). This is why the Gospel is the good news. Christ’s death is a substitutionary and propitiatory sacrifice to God for our sins (John 3:16). It perfectly satisfies the demands of God’s holy, justice, and wrath. We were completely lost and had no hope. However, this good news tells us that God declares righteous those who, through faith in Christ, repent of their sins (Romans 2:4; 2 Corinthians 7:10). We believe that we are saved by the perfect work of Christ and God’s infinite grace and love.
